It feels like yesterday that I met Julia in a coffee shop on a cold rainy night to talk about her engagement and wedding. She was so excited and knew exactly what she wanted her day to be like. We talked about how Tim proposed on the docks in Annapolis, to how they met, and how she loves nature and her love for photography. I could not wait to shoot their wedding and the irony of that cold rainy comes back to us on their wedding day!
July in Maryland can go many ways. It was gorgeous all day. I remember driving to the farm and thinking the sky is just insane today. Beautiful fluffy clouds and the bluest skies I had seen all summer. Sure, they were calling for crazy storms, but no way. It was just to pretty, but hot, but no way was it going to rain. The moment I stepped out of my car, the thunder started. I said a prayer. I knew how much Julia wanted this wedding outside. And who could blame her, the farm is simply stunning! The ceremony site sits next to the house, on top of a hill, overlooking the corn fields and the barn. It has to be one of prettiest spots to get married.
Luckily, we made it. Just prior to Julia and Tim walking down the aisle the clouds darkened and the wind came ( which was wonderful, it stayed cool). I said a little prayer that it held off through the ceremony. And well it did, all the way through shooting all the formal photos. The crazy thing was, the storm circled the farm, it almost felt like the we were surrounded but untouched. We could see the rain and lightening all around us, but not one drop until I finished the last formal photo. Then it rained...and rained and rained. But hey, rain is Good Luck, right.
I have to say, I love watching these two together. All day they both smiled from ear to ear. I found myself saying they are too dang cute so many times. Really they are. It rained, it was hot ( ok, it was god awful hot and humid) but not once did they let that get them down. They had to be the calmest bride and groom ever on a wedding day. I loved that gave each other the sweetest little notes prior to the wedding. There were moments I took steps back and had tears. They had the best bridal party that kept me on my toes and laughing hysterically! These guys are so loved and you could feel it all day!
Congratulations you guys!! Happy almost one week of marriage and hope you are enjoying your special time together this week!!
